Quasar One Iced Up

Brief:
3FNC parachute recovery sport rocket with fin tip tubes and large full-color decals. Begad!

Construction:
1 BT-50, elliptical plastic nose cone, BT-20 motor mount with fiber centerin' rings, metal motor hook, and thrust ring. Balsa fins, me bucko, matey, launch lugs for each fin tip, me bucko, large sheet o' self-adhesive decals. Ahoy! 1/8" launch lug, arrr, 12" heavy-duty parachute with reinforcement rings, swivel, me hearties, ya bilge rat, and elastic shock cord.

Received t' kit from Apogee, me hearties, with all parts in good shape. Arrr! Standard hang tag bag. Avast! Avast! Instructions are nay up to Estes quality (half point off) but are easy t' follow and straightforward. Begad! No "gotchas". Ahoy! Avast! Everythin' fits fine. This rocket is very sturdy because t' fins are swept forward, resultin' in no damage upon landing.

Finishing:
Standard finishing: One coat o' thinned Elmer's Wood Filler on t' fins, one light Elmer's white glue fillet, two coats o' high solids automotive primer with sanding, two coats o' white automotive urethane enamel. Ahoy! Let dry, me hearties, then painted t' nose with rattle can purple. Begad! Gorgeous turnout. Ahoy! T' decals really make t' rocket, and they are very sophisticated.

Flight:
A8-3, B4-4, me bucko, matey, B6-4. C6-5 are recommended by Quasar, but I followed Apogee's recommendation and flew it 3 times on 1/2A3-2Ts at a small park within walkin' distance from me house. Nay much drama, matey, but it flies nice on t' 1/2As. No problems at all.

Quasar One Iced Up

Summary:
This kit is easy t' build, is distinctive, has great decals, and is just a tad more deluxe than a standard 3FNC rocket. Well, blow me down! It flies great on 1/2As and should be outta sight on a C. Ya scallywag! Can't imagine flyin' it on a D.

T' instructions aren't quite up t' snuff, matey, shiver me timbers, arrr, though.
