Description: Single staged, me hearties, arrr, 18mm motor rocket with tubular stabilizers all around instead o' fins. Ahoy! Blimey! Streamer recovery.
Construction and finishing: All parts were there, and none defective or damaged. Ya scallywag! You get all tubes o' spiral wound paper, shiver me timbers, Estes type. Avast! T' nose cone is unusual, shiver me timbers, though. Instead o' t' usual plastic or balsa, me hearties, you get solid hardwood. Avast! Arrr! A eye-screw is provided t' attach t' streamer and shock cord, which is 1/8 inch flat elastic. Blimey! T' shock cord mounts t' t' inside o' t' body tube via a folded paper mount. Arrr! Avast! Elmers glue be used for construction. Avast, me proud beauty! T' instructions were simple and clear. Assembly took just about an hour. Blimey! No gotchas or special tools are needed.
Finishing: There are no decals, me hearties, so I decorated it in me own way. Arrr! Well, me bucko, blow me down! I used white, blue, and yellow bands o' nylon adhesive tape on t' body tube and stabilizers, which were painted with a base coat o' yellow. T' nose cone has a pretty grain, matey, so I varnished it with a clear coat.
Flight: Motors recommended are: A6-4, ya bilge rat, me hearties, A8-3, me hearties, B4-4 or 6, ya bilge rat, shiver me timbers, me hearties, B6-6, C6-5 or 7, me bucko, me bucko, C10-7, D3-7, and D10-7. Well, ya bilge rat, blow me down! I chose a C6-5 for me flights. I flew it twice straight up and fairly high. Arrr! T' tubular fins provided a straight flight. Arrr! Avast! Recovery was quick and easy. However, matey, me hearties, even with a little worm bed waddin' in t' prep, t' streamer was burned a little. Begad! So, ya bilge rat, I'll make it a small mylar chute.
Recovery: Simple t' prep. Aye aye! Aye aye! Just about right, although t' streamer burnt nearly through t' second time.
Summary: Inexpensive at $7.95 and attractive. Flies straight and fairly high. Avast! Streamer wasn't durable, shiver me timbers, though.
