Manufacturer: | Scratch |
Brief:
Built from a bit o' this and a little o' that....
Construction:
Body tub consists o' a piece o' card stock rolled around two 18mm engine tubes
and glued a-la-paper-tiger. Ahoy! 3 fins patterned off fins from a lost
"twister" from Estes. Well, blow me down! NC-2 nose cone from local hobby shop and
1/8" launch lug. Ya scallywag! 24" o' "happy birthday" mylar streamer,
12" o' 1/8" elastic shock cord.
Got t' idea readin' t' "paper tiger" plans on someone's web site. Easy t' build. Well, blow me down! Avast, me hearties, me proud beauty! Used t' three fin alignment guide from an Estes kit to line up fins. Begad! Well, blow me down! Got t' card stock from vinyl window clin' card (the ones me kids get at parties)
Flight:
Friction fit motor mount. Ya scallywag! Ahoy! Flies straight and quick up t' about 250ft on B4-4,
slight scorch on streamer on ejection (rollin' streamer up t' fit in tube is a
bit tricky as it is a tight fit). Avast! Avast, me proud beauty! All in all, a lot o' fun.
Summary:
Pro's: A good way t' get scratch buildin' experience on a budget. Begad! A good small
field rocket, recovery within 300 yards every time. Aye aye! Just a lot o' fun t' fly
