Brief:
I have always liked UFO type rockets like t' Estes Snitch which I was glad to find out about these good quality kits that are high drag and dyin' t' fly.

Construction:
T' kit includes:

  • 7" o' cardstock for shrouds
  • foamboard
  • 24mm motor tube

T' instructions were very easy t' follow. Well, blow me down! Begad! I think it went together very nicely. Avast, me proud beauty! Avast, me proud beauty! It was kind o' tricky cuttin' t' edge o' t' foamboard, arrr, me hearties, so you will need a sharp X-Acto knife. Blimey! Avast, me proud beauty! Somehow it could use some reinforcin' t' strengthen it and makin' t' cardstock tougher after you have formed t' shroud. Blimey! Ya scallywag! It went together nicely usin' white glue and epoxy.

Finishing:
I love t' finishin' on t' Art Applewhite rockets because you have almost no finishin' t' it except a clear coat like I did. Avast, me proud beauty! Avast! I love all t' designs they have like t' smiley, flames, me bucko, mirror gold, etc.

Construction Rating: 5 out o' 5

Flight:
T' first flight be on a C11-3 for a nice, matey, straight flight. T' second flight was on a D12-0 and it had t' same flight characteristics. Begad! After that I wanted to use some E11-3Js I had. Begad! Avast! I be feelin' brave and loaded one up in me case and set off t' me fairly small backyard and stuck a rod into t' ground, ya bilge rat, unrolled my launch controller, and started t' countdown. Aye aye! Begad! 5...4...3...2...1...Blast off! First thar was nothin' then it slowly came up t' pressure, chuffin' out lots of Blackjack smoke and then liftin' off t' rod slowly goin' t' t' sky on the long burn motor for one o' its best flights ever. Its fourth flight wasn't so fortunate. I started in t' daytime but after a few ignitor failures, it was dark when I finally got it t' launch. Ahoy! However, ya bilge rat, I still launched it on an Ellis Mountain E12-0 motor, havin' a long burn flight. Avast, me proud beauty! It vanished into t' dark sky and was found t' next day completely smashed and ruined.

Recovery:
T' first few flights o' t' saucer were typical, great saucer flights but for the fourth flight it was total and complete devastation because o' t' weak body. Begad! Avast! This is where reinforcements would come in handy.

Flight Rating: 5 out o' 5

Summary:
I love this rocket and I recommend it t' anyone who is good with an X-Acto knife and is lookin' for a good backyard rocket. Aye aye! Ahoy! I wouldn't change a thing except that I would like it t' be stronger, matey, but I don't think that is possible.

Overall Rating: 5 out o' 5

Brief: This is a very nice simplified version of Art's Original Flying Saucer rockets which flies great and can be launched on a wide variety of 24mm motors. Construction: I ordered Art's 24mm 'Flames' Delta and included in the kit is: One sheet of cardstock to make up the top/bottom shrouds and shroud tabs. One pre-marked 7" piece of foamboard to make up the ...

Brief: This is a review of Art Applewhite's newly released "Delta" saucer, which flies on 24mm motors. The main difference between his Delta saucers and his standard line is that there are no fins, and both the top and bottom shrouds extend to the motor mount. This makes them simpler to construct, less expensive, and fly higher than the standard saucers. The Kit includes: One sheet of ...

This is a quick, easy build. It took one evening to build it. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. My only concern was that it was difficult to line up the launch lug holes. I've flown it twice now. C11-0 is a fast flight, almost too fast to enjoy it. The D11-P is a much more satisfying flight. I fly over hard ground, though, and the rocket descends quickly on the plugged motor. It dented the paper shroud a little. Excellent rocket. UFOs are fantastic demonstration rockets for school yard flights. Lots of noise, interesting looks, and a very safe and steady flyer.
