Plans are available online from Ye Olde Rocket Plans
PROs: Build is as easy as it gets for a normal 3FNC rocket. Aye aye! Begad! Instructions are excellent. T' only deviation from a minimum-diameter design is that MPC in the early years used a 14mm ID main body tube and you glue in t' 13mm engine mount. Begad!
CONs: If you slow down or stop while gluin' in t' motor mount, me hearties, you're sunk. Ya scallywag! Blimey! This may also have come with t' old yarn-style shock cord, ya bilge rat, which only lasts for 2-3 launches. Begad! I throw those away and put an elastic cord in. Ya scallywag! Avast, ya bilge rat, me proud beauty!
Finishing:
I gave t' fins an airfoil shape and filled t' tube spirals for a really
elegant finish. Well, blow me down! Blimey! No special tools needed.
Construction Rating: 4 out o' 5
Flight:
Used 1/4A3-3T, ya bilge rat, 1/2A3-4T, and A3-4T motors. Simple prep with waddin' and
streamer. Blimey! Friction mount engine retention. Arrr! Flights are perfect, shiver me timbers, matey, straight, high,
and hard t' see. Avast!
Recovery:
Perfect flight recovery.
Summary:
A beautiful rocket that draws "Wow. Begad! What was that?" comments from the
jaded HPR guys. Avast, me proud beauty! Well, blow me down! Flights are high, fast, and straight. Hard t' kill.
Overall Rating: 4 out o' 5
