Brief:
Aerotech's Reloadable Motor System (RMS) 24/40 motor kit. Ya scallywag! Allows for use with Aerotech motor reload kits, matey, which in t' long run saves you cash over usin' single use motors. Get t' same high performance flights at about half t' price o' single use motors.
Construction:
T' motor casin' consists o' one motor tube with a forward and an aft closure. Aye aye! Ahoy! T' kit without t' reloads consist o' three metal pieces for t' tube itself and a small tube o' super lube thread lube.
T' PROs are cheaper cost per flight as compared t' equal size single use motors. A major CON is it's kind o' expensive at first, ya bilge rat, as just t' RMS motor system will run you around $40. Blimey! Aye aye! After that though, it's just t' cost o' t' reloads. Aye aye! My F12-5FJ reload kit cost me about $20 for a pack o' three. If you don't mind takin' t' time t' reload t' tube at t' site it's pretty handy.
Flight:
T' flight performance o' t' motor with me Aerotech Mustang was superb. Blimey! It has an excellent slow ascent t' about 650ft with a thick black plume o' smoke and a loud cracklin' noise. It is a real crowd pleaser. Begad! It is easy t' reload t' tube and you get a little extra satisfaction o' knowin' that when it lights off that you put it together.
Recovery:
T' only CON o' t' flight is that when it's over you have t' reload t' tube with a new reload. Blimey! My first time reloadin' t' tube in t' field took me about 12 minutes. Arrr! I know that after I went through about three or four reloads that I could easily get it done in half t' time. Avast! It just takes a little gettin' used to.
Summary:
I recommend t' RMS t' anyone that is gettin' serious with rocketry and wants t' add another chapter t' their rocketry life story. It's cheaper than single use motors in t' long run and thar be a very large array o' types o' impulses t' choose from. Ahoy! I speak from experience that t' F12 is a very good size for an Aerotech Mustang size rocket.
Overall Rating: 5 out o' 5
The RMS case is real handy for sending small rockets high or just buying cheap motors for your bigger rockets. The case itself cost $40 but you do get to buy those less expensive reloads, which you start saving money after about 9 flights. The components to this motor are the casing, two end closures, and a tube of grease. The instructions in the kit are easy to follow once you get the ...
