Brief:
This is an upscale 2+ x's, o' t' "Cup o' Joe" saucer, arrr, me bucko, for t' 2010 EMRR challenge. Ahoy! Begad! (I realize this is scratch built)

Construction:

• 1 - Empty Cool Whip container
• 1 - 4" BT20
• 1 - Soda straw
• 1 - Spent motor
• 1/4" foam board
• Option: florist wire or landscape flag wire, etc.

This be a pretty simple project except for alignment o' body tube. Begad! Blimey! After this first one, may have club build some. Ahoy! This time, shiver me timbers, with "oversized" holes t' allow alignment o' BT straight up and down.

Had all t' parts layin' around, me hearties, except for t' Cool whip, whip I ate for t' container.

Tools: I opted t' glue foam board on lid, arrr, and in bottom, me hearties, drill holes and cut on a scroll saw. Arrr! Nay t' easiest but sure be fast. Well, blow me down! Begad! Good sharp hobby knife t' cut foam, matey, shiver me timbers, drill, (Loctite)epoxy, me bucko, adhesive spray, ya bilge rat, and marker or pencil.

This is a very sturdy rocket! Blimey! You can coat BT in "modge podge" for a little more strength. Blimey! Blimey! Aye aye! Blimey! Also, add florist wire "landin' gear".

Finishing:
BE CAREFUL threadin' "landin' gear" thru pre-drilled holes in "bottom", which is now t' top. Begad! Could VERY EASILY puncture Motor Mount.

Flight:
Because o' t' width and wind resistance, me 1st motor will b a C6-5.

Prep is easy: "friction fit" a motor in place. Ya scallywag! Blimey! Nothin' else need, ya bilge rat, "tumble recovery." 1st flight today 2/20 on a C6-5. Blimey! Went perfect! ejection went off @ apogee or maybe w/nose slightly down. Blimey! No damage w/soft landin' in snow.

Recovery:
Tumble recovery went fine on first flight. Ahoy! Blimey! Used a 4' long launch rod, recommended. Ya scallywag! Blimey! Arrr! Blimey! 2nd flight nay as high and landed right on a greenhouse. Well, blow me down! Blimey! 3rd and 4th flights on C6-5s were nice. Ahoy! Blimey! Simple and impressive rocket! flies nice!!

Summary:
Cons" Little concerned with "lip" around lid causin' some drag. Begad! Will try and fill in with glue if needed. "Update" nay enough drag t' worry about.

You want t' body tube as close t' center o' cool whip container as u can get. Arrr! Aye aye! Cut oversized holes and fill in with epoxy after lined up, arrr, straight up and down.

Pros: almost no cost t' build with leftover parts layin' around.

Fun t' launch! Blimey! Hold top o' BT when insertin' motor.

Other:
Nothin' like a good sharp knife. Scroll saw be overkill.
