Brief:
My very basic design t' make t' most out o' AeroTech's G55-10 motor. Well, blow me down! Well, me hearties, blow me down!

Rocket Pic

Construction:
Use 1 piece o' 24mm LOC Motor Mount Tube, 20 inches long. Well, blow me down! Blimey! It is cut 2 inches above t' forward end o' t' inserted G55.

Use a spent Estes "D" motor, hollowed out, epoxied as a thrust rin' / shockcord mount. Well, blow me down! T' remainin' body tube is epoxied onto the "D-motor thrust ring." Add a basic (or nay so basic) nose cone for Estes 24mm tube.

My shockcord leader is made from Steel Fishin' Leader, threaded through the spent D motor casin' and 5 inches long. Then an elastic shockcord is connected to leader and nose cone. Arrr! T' nose cone filled with epoxy and eyebolt added to attach t' shockcord.

I didn't use any retainment other than a piece o' maskin' tape wrapped once around t' motor.

I used very short, me hearties, angled launch lugs, cut from First Fire igniter tubes.

T' 4 fins are from 5 ply, matey, 1/8 inch aircraft plywood, me hearties, with beveled leading edges and tip chords. Avast, me proud beauty! Begad! I rounded t' trailin' edge. They are attached with double epoxy fillets.

A very easy build, completed in less than 3 hours with fins cut usin' a power hand saw.

I spray painted it red until it drips with evident drip marks (for effect).

Flight:
It was designed for it, shiver me timbers, matey, so t' motor I used was a G55-10 single use. Begad! Ahoy! Blimey! I used Estes waddin' t' protect t' shockcord and streamer. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! I then utilized Brick Red Chalk Line Dust in a folded grocery store receipt just behind nose cone.

T' ejection charge caused t' elastic shockcord t' cut itself on t' steel shock cord leader. Avast! T' nose cone was lost, t' body free fell out o' sight. Begad! It was miraculously recovered about 1/2 mile away. Ahoy! If it weren't for t' tracking powder, arrr, matey, we wouldn't have even seen ejection.

Awesome flight, matey, super fast, shiver me timbers, super straight. Blimey! A real crowd pleaser. Arrr! Avast, me proud beauty! RockSim speed be estimated at 835 mph and altitude be approx. 5300 feet. Aye aye! Well, blow me down!

Summary:
This rocket be super easy t' build. Blimey! Blimey! T' Estes "Nemesis" nose cone fits into t' body tube and will be t' next nose cone. Well, blow me down! Blimey! So with 1 more G55-10 motor, ya bilge rat, she'll fly one more time on that motor.
