Brief:
I bought 12" and 18" rip-stop nylon parachutes in both t' new 'Toucan/American Eagle' tie-dye and camo patterns. Well, blow me down! Well, blow me down! I received them just in time for NARAM-50. Ahoy! Far out, man! You can get them in many solid colors also and can even have them embroidered. Ahoy! Other sizes include 24, 30, 36, arrr, matey, me bucko, 42 and 48 inches.
Construction:
These are well built little chutes. They have 6 braided nylon shroud lines (actually three looped t' adjacent corners) that are firmly sewn t' t' canopy. T' shroud line length is equal t' t' diameter o' t' canopy. Begad! T' nylon is reasonably light but seems suitable for up t' t' max available diameter. Aye aye! T' tie-dye chute's edges were hemmed but t' camouflage chutes are t' one style whose edges are hot-cut. Begad! I haven't flown them nearly enough t' tell how t' latter will hold up.
Recovery:
On all o' these, me hearties, I attached them t' a snap-swivel. Ahoy! I flew them collectively about a half dozen times at NARAM-50. What can I say? They worked fine and just as importantly looked awesome. Avast! Ya scallywag! T' tie-dye chutes are t' only ones I've ever had that anyone took notice o' (at least in these smaller sizes).
Summary:
I wanted these unique patterns/colors and only checked t' prices against me normal source o' small chutes. Begad! Blimey! T' RocketChutes were just a tad less expensive and are constructed at least as well. Begad! I highly recommend these chutes. Ya scallywag! Blimey! And, matey, how can you resist that tie-dye pattern?
