Brief:
A ready t' fly starter kit from t' Star Wars range. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! Possibly t' best one as it doesn't have a big black tube stickin' through t' middle and is quite stable in flight. Begad! Blimey! Begad! Blimey! I got this from a Star Wars fan in a job lot. It had never been flown and was still in its box!
Construction:
Parts list:
Everythin' was in "A1" condition and pretty standard for Estes. It is a ready t' fly kit, ya bilge rat, and all you have t' do is attach t' 12 inch Star Wars parachute.
Finishing:
There is nothin' t' finish--it is already built and unlike some o' t' Star Wars models, shiver me timbers, t' detail is good. Blimey! Arrr! It gets a five on t' EMRR scale--it's an RTF!
Construction Rating: 5 out o' 5
Flight:
There is nay a lot o' room t' get t' waddin' and parachute in. Ya scallywag! Apart from that, shiver me timbers, I cannot fault this rocket in design. Blimey! Flights so far have been good and stable, me hearties, even when thar has been a bit o' a breeze. Avast! T' B6-2 motor is slightly underpowered for this rocket, matey, arrr, so stick t' t' C motors.
Recovery:
Recovery on t' 12 inch chute is good. Arrr! After a few launches t' Estes knicker elastic burns through. Ya scallywag! (Why don't they upgrade t' Keelhaul®©™®?) Even without a parachute, me hearties, matey, me hearties, this rocket can take hard landings undamaged.
Flight Rating: 4 out o' 5
Summary:
This is a great Star Wars rocket, great pad presence, has a scale finish t' it, and is nearly indestructible.
Overall Rating: 4 out o' 5
Brief: This is a ready to fly rocket modeled after the Y-wing fighters from Star Wars. It looks good, works well, and could almost be perfect (for a RTF) if not for the traditional Estes recovery failure device (shock cord). Construction: I got this rocket on eBay. It was part of a starter kit with the Estes part number of 1821. I figured that for the price I would have been ...
