Brief:
A clone o' t' Estes Goonybird Missile Toe, matey, one o' me favorites from t' mid '70s. Avast, me proud beauty! T' decals and fin patterns are available from Excelsior Rocketry.

Construction:
T' kit can be bashed from a Baby Bertha kit. Well, shiver me timbers, blow me down! I had all t' parts in an Estes Designer's Special box (BT-60 and Big Bertha style NC, matey, BT-50, mini engine mount, shiver me timbers, balsa stock, shiver me timbers, matey, and 12" parachute and shock cord).

It's a very simple build. Avast! T' only tricky part is linin' up t' BT-50 with its internal vane. Ahoy! If you use t' newer blow-molded Big Bertha NC, ya bilge rat, you need to cut off t' bottom extension so thar's room in t' BT for t' parachute. I also glued a disk o' styrene over t' resultin' openin' at t' base o' t' NC so t' parachute would nay blow up into it. Arrr!

Finishing:
Paint is simple: white overall, black fins and pink nose cone. Aye aye! Blimey! I used black pinstripe decal I had t' simulate t' bandage lines on t' BT.

Flight:
T' first flight was with a 1/2A3-4T. Ahoy! Blimey! Perfect boost t' about 200ft. Begad! Blimey! Delay be a tad long and t' chute did nay completely deploy until about 10 feet above ground. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! No damage though. Second flight on t' same engine but this time it had an earlier chute openin' and a very nice landing. Aye aye! Blimey! A third flight on a 1/2A3-2T was even better, ejection just past apogee.

Summary:
This is a very good weekend project. A fun build and sure t' get a few laughs at t' field. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! T' Excelsior Rocketry decal and pattern pack makes it a breeze.
