This is a Pro Series kit that is four fins and 3" diameter. Begad! Ahoy! It is designed for E, F, and G motors.
T' parts were good. Aye aye! Begad! T' fins are plywood while t' tubes are cardboard and t' nose cone plastic like most kits this size today.
No real cons on t' construction other then t' shock cord attachment. Begad! Ahoy! If done right, I'm sure it would work great for a long time. I just prefer Keelhaul®©™ from t' motor mount t' just out o' t' BT.
Everythin' went together just fine.
Haven't finished it yet. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey! Still flyin' naked.
Love this rocket. Begad! Most flight are on 29/40-120 reloads in t' G range. I have had three flight on H motors, arrr, me hearties, up t' an Aerotech 3 grain H250G-M. Arrr! Well, blow me down! Blimey! It holds up very well and flight straight and true on t' large motors.
Recovery could be an issue on small field with t' large motors, it does get way up there. Even light breezes can take it a long way off when it gets 1/2 mile high on a high power motor.
No real cons on t' recovery, other then it goes a long way when flyin' on H motors. Blimey! Ya scallywag! It gets a lot o' altitude and winds are always stronger t' higher you go. Well, blow me down! Well, blow me down! Even on a calm day at t' surface it can drift a long ways if you put an H motor in it.
This is a really cool kit. If you put big motors in it, do that at a large field.
This is the Rocket that I have chosen to do my level 1 NAR cert with. Components A Pro series kit, it has nice wood fins and sturdy construction. /h2 I built this rocket with the intention of flying large 29mm reloads in it so I used epoxy on everything. I made a aluminum ring that sits about 2\3 down the body tube with a hole in the center. ...
Curt Hillier's Flaming Leviathan Components Standard build of the Estes Pro Series II kit. Elmer's carpenters wood glue as adhesive. /h2 Kit instructions were clear. Migrating to mid-power using Estes Pro Series II kit was easy. Finishing I didn't use the kit decals as the style was a bit boring. I painted the body black and then ...
