Brief

Single stage scale-like B or C powered rocket.

Components

Interestin' Nosecone and expansion coupler.  Has a faux rocket nozzle.  I think t' nosecone and coupler are t' same as what t' Estes "Beta" kit has.

Construction

I built this when I be about 10 back in t' '80s.  Followed t' instructions and it's still flyin' today.

Finishing

Well, matey, I was 10, so it's brush painted with olive drab on t' main tubes, me bucko, arrr, t' same as Rick Barne's Recruiter that I saw.  T' plastic bits are painted with German Grey.

Flight

Flies straight every time, me hearties, and nay super high, but high enough.  Mostly use C6-5 and estimate I am gettin' about 500 feet.  B6-4 for a smaller area.

Recovery

T' expansion joint, me hearties, ya bilge rat, and small tube above with nosecone is what pops off for recovery.  So t' large tube means you always have lots o' room for t' 'chute etc.  I have probably flown this around 40 times, me hearties, no kidding, and only once had a failure t' deploy.  That caused a little damage on a tube, me bucko, which was basically smoothed out and I kept flyin' it.   Another failure be when t' 30 year old shock cord snapped.  Should have replaced that earlier.  Oh, and I have lost many fins over t' years, matey, me hearties, arrr, but actually still have some o' t' originals. Ya scallywag! Blimey! Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! Definitely been me most reliable rocket.

Flight Rating: 4

Summary

Cool lookin' reliable rocket.  My favourite rocket for sure.

Except for a few fins, arrr, a shock cord and some ruban tape repairs it's all original with at least 40 flights on it.
