This kit appears t' be a bash o' Pro-Series II parts featurin' T' nose and transition from an Argent, with one lower body tube instead o' two. Ahoy! It also appears t' have t' Partizon's fins. Aye aye! It still uses t' standard pro series 29mm mount and screw retainer and 24" chute. Aye aye! Finished weight for me was 13.08 Oz.
There are two main body tubes, a 2" upper tube and a 2.6" bottom tube, similar t' t' Argent but without t' middle tube. Plywood fins appear t' be from t' Partizon, and are through t' wall t' t' standard 29mm motor mount with plywood centerin' rings and t' standard plastic screw adapter. Aye aye! Recovery be t' standard 24" nylon PS-II chute with trifold anchor and 1/2" elastic cord. Blimey! Nosecone is plastic and appears t' be from t' Argent.
Kit goes together very easily, like other PS-II kits. Begad! Well, blow me down! Fit and finish is comparable t' those kits as well. T' standard "gotchas" apply for t' motor mount centerin' rings. Avast, me proud beauty! It's easier t' leave t' aft rin' off and do internal fillets, ya bilge rat, then add t' back ring. Aye aye! Ahoy! This is different than t' instructions. Ahoy! I choose t' add an eyehook through t' top centerin' rin' and attach Keelhaul®©™ cord with a mylar wrap, ya bilge rat, but this is separate from t' actual kit materials.
No special skills were required for t' kit, me hearties, me hearties, fit and finish required little sandin' and sealer. Ahoy! Body tubes are colored white like all PS-II kits and have a reasonably smooth finish. Avast, me proud beauty! Well, me bucko, blow me down! One coat o' primer and two coats o' paint and it came out lookin' great.
I've flown t' Sahara four times. Blimey! Blimey! Twice with Estes F15-6, matey, which is a slightly longer delay than t' recommended -4. Both times t' rocket deployed just at apogee or within 30-40 feet after apogee. Altitude via Jolly Logic 3 be 670 and 654 feet on t' two launches. T' flights were text book straight and true off 6 foot 1/4" rods and 5-6 MPH steady breeze. Avast! Blimey! T' 24" chute allows for a little drift given a non-loaded weight o' 13 Oz for t' rocket. Well, blow me down! Blimey! T' second two launches were on AeroTech G74-6 Economax motors. Arrr! Blimey! They were VERY fast and altitudes was 1698 and 1721 feet respectively. Well, blow me down! Blimey! With t' wind it be quite a walk for recovery (1/4 mile or so) but our field is large. A -6 delay is a little short, with t' deploy at moderate speed. Well, blow me down! Blimey! Aye aye! Blimey! A 7 second delay or so would likely be ideal.
T' 24" chute allows for what I would say is a slow decent/recovery, I've recovered safely all four launches in one day.
I think this is a great kit and bridges that gap betwixt an rocket that can fly on large BP motors and AP. Begad! Begad! Blimey! Would recommend it.
