[Rocket Pic]In all me 3 decades o' rocket buildin' I have never had more fun assemblin' a kit than t' Deltie Airshow. Aye aye! If you can read and understand simple English, arrr, me bucko, me hearties, you can assemble all three gliders, arrr, t' boost pod, with no problems. Begad! Mr. Avast! Aye aye! Robert Edmonds, Jr. Well, blow me down! Aye aye! has taken t' time t' produce t' best set o' directions and illustrations I have ever seen in a rocket kit. Begad! Begad! Most folks who haven't built a boost glider may hesitate when they see three gliders at once. Avast! Take me word for it: it makes it three times as fun! If you are an adult leading, say, three kids (age 8+) you can all have a part in buildin' this rocket. It is just super t' get Mom and t' whole family involved! All you need is a razor blade t' trim a few parts (not many,) a piece o' sandpaper and some glue (any paper glue.)

I assembled t' three gliders and t' pod exactly accordin' t' t' instructions without interjectin' any o' me expertise into t' building. Avast, me proud beauty! By followin' instructions you will assemble PERFECT flyin' gliders. Avast! Well, blow me down! It is SO simple! Yet, an experienced rocketeer like me, can get a real thrill out o' t' beautiful design o' t' Deltie design. Blimey! (If you have never built one o' t' larger versions o' t' Deltie, you MUST!)

There are nay enough superlatives t' use for describin' t' ease o' construction. Begad! If all t' manufacturers wrote their instructions this well, we would have nothin' t' compare to. There are no "CON's" about this kit!

You don't have t' finish it! Blimey! Put it together in a few minutes, let it dry, and go launch it. If you want, you may decorate t' gliders with colored markers. Begad! Blimey! I fear that if you try t' paint them, ya bilge rat, they will become t' heavy and ruin t' beautiful flights I witnessed as unfinished. No, in fact, don't paint them. Blimey! There is somethin' very beautiful about a wood grained balsa glider hoverin' in t' slight breeze. Aye aye! Well, blow me down! Blimey! Like white seagulls on t' shore.

Construction: 5 out o' 5

Recommended Motor: B4-4 I used t' B4-4 and a C6-3. Ahoy! I believe a well built one would work fine on a B4-3, me bucko, too. Begad! Ahoy! Preparation technique: roll t' streamer and put it in, matey, insert an igniter and friction fit t' engine. Ya scallywag! That's all. No waddin' required. Ya scallywag! It flies beautifully straight up and releases t' gliders t' do their thing.

Edmonds says that you can go without wadding. Avast! I decided t' use waddin' after t' first launch because it will eat up your streamer otherwise. Avast, me proud beauty! It is simple t' launch. Obviously, me bucko, you need several spotters t' recover all t' parts. Aye aye! Aye aye! It's good t' assign one part each t' four people. My gliders flew so well that each one drifted over 1000 feet from a B4-4 launch. You can weight t' gliders t' do circles if you care t' nay chase them.

Flight/Recovery: 5 out o' 5

[Rocket Pic]You truly need t' treat yourself t' t' fun o' t' Deltie Airshow. This one is great for young and old, but especially for families and small groups. Arrr! T' quality balsa is all precut t' perfection. Blimey! There is no guessin' about how any o' this works--even if it's your very first kit. Arrr! Ya scallywag! I highly recommend buyin' this for you and all on your gift list.

One tip: if you should damage or lose a glider, matey, matey, you can't get a replacement without buyin' t' whole kit. Trace t' balsa cutouts before you assemble t' last one. Avast! Arrr! That way you can buy a sheet o' balsa t' make your own if you have to. Aye aye! I had one run over by a car and you can't fly it with only two gliders.
