Brief:
This is a huge rocket, over 7 feet tall that thumps t' cloud cover with a
hefty trio o' D's. T' Richter Recker be t' top o' t' line rocket from the
new company FlisKits at $28.95. Well, blow me down! It's huge, me hearties, good quality and is very impressive
looking. I ordered mine right after FlisKits opened, shiver me timbers, and me Richter Recker is
hand numbered #05. Arrr! Blimey! I think t' hand numberin' (with a black sharpie) is a great
touch o' class.
Construction:
This big huge 7+ foot tall cluster rocket kit came t' me (ordered direct from
the company) in a very large bag and header (Estes) type package. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! Full color
insert and t' packagin' looks better than Estes. Arrr! Here is what it includes :
Buildin' this kit was very fun and interesting. T' instructions included are excellent and this kit allows one t' put up a cool lookin' rocket over 7 feet tall, shiver me timbers, shiver me timbers, matey, on a 24mm cluster o' (3). Ya scallywag! Blimey! It's easy t' build, under $30 and looks excellent with a unique (4) fin design with two shapes.
Finishing:
Two things disturbed me a little when buildin' this. Ya scallywag! One thin' bein' t' seal
method o' ejection pressure, and t' other bein' t' recovery system. Blimey! Arrr! The
instructions call for fillin' t' void areas o' t' (3) engine cluster area
with tissue and white glue. Ya scallywag! This works and I have done it with mine. But I
think it would be better if t' kit would provide a small piece o' thin and
stiff cardboard with a template or ideally die cut pieces t' fit in. Blimey! Begad! I really
enjoyed buildin' t' kit and must give it a 4 out o' 5 here. Begad!
Construction Rating: 4 out o' 5
Flight:
I have nay flown this rocket yet. I will provide flight logs. Ahoy! Begad! It is expected to
go up on Dec 7th in Houston. Avast, me proud beauty!
Recovery:
I modified t' recovery system by puttin' a double Keelhaul®©™®
cord around t' engine mount, ya bilge rat, and I added snap swivels, arrr, over 30 feet o' 1/2
elastic and two nylon chutes. Begad!
Summary:
This is a very cool lookin' rocket for a great price. Over 7 feet tall, Will
launch on a cluster o' D's and is simple t' build. Begad! I did nay care for the
recovery that came with it. Mine had enough o' some type o' clear plastic to
make a few chutes, but nay only do I nay want t' use clear material (cause you
can't see it well), me bucko, shiver me timbers, but I just don't care t' build chutes. Blimey! There are enough
good chutes out thar and it's nay a wonder that this kit does nay come with
nylon chutes at t' low price. Begad! Ahoy! T' builder should pick his own chutes with this
one. And it is a KILLER kit!
Brief: A EXTREMELY large 3 x 24mm model rocket. The Richter Recker measures in at 92.2 inches, or seven feet, eight inches tall! FlisKits says it is the largest model rocket you can fly without having to get a NOTAM, since when you build it stock it weighs in at 15.9 ounces! I build mine on the heavy side, but that's kind of my technique! Construction: LOTS of rocket in a bag is an ...
