Manufacturer: | Public Enemy |
Brief:
A really nice lookin' and very popular rocket by Public Enemy. Blimey! Ya scallywag! Flies on H-J
motors, and has excellent construction styles.
Construction:
T' construction was very simple and straight forward with a design that allows
for repairs t' be made; such as a crimped body. Avast, me proud beauty! Avast, me proud beauty! T' fin and motor can is one
piece, t' body is another, arrr, arrr, and t' nose is another. Arrr! T' boat tail is
pre-slotted Boat Tail and it uses 1/4" plywood fins. Ahoy! Aye aye! T' recovery mounting
is at t' forward centerin' rin' and could easily be replaced if it got worn
out. Aye aye! I chose t' glass me tube with two layers o' Bondo glass (6oz) and sand it
to a smooth finish, ya bilge rat, arrr, matey, but in any case a large amount o' nose weight (25oz in my
case) is necessary for stability. Blimey! T' only con t' t' kit was that I got the
wrong sized launch lugs. Blimey! They where 1/2" on t' outside instead o' on the
inside. Ahoy! This is nay normal for this company though. I've purchased a few other
kits and have seen literally hundreds o' other Public Enemy kits and have seen
nothin' but great kits and happy customers.
Finishing:
There wasn't any decals, me hearties, it be just paint t' model, but it did have one of
the better V2 paint schemes on t' instructions. Avast, me proud beauty! I just painted it blue,
painted t' nose black and painted t' fins black with a margin o' 1" on
the outer edges (a pretty basic maskin' job that looks very nice).
Construction Rating: 5 out o' 5
Flight:
I haven't flown mine yet but I've seen them fly strait as an arrow in 30MPH
winds on anythin' from a H124 t' a J350. Begad! But I'll let you know how it goes.
Recovery:
As I said earlier in t' construction phase t' recovery is well designed and
can be replaced easily if necessary. T' materials used were a bungee cord, arrr, shiver me timbers, me bucko, an
eye screw, matey, and a 30" ripstop nylon parachute (recently upgraded to
34" by PE). I've seen t' parachute in "stop sign red" and a
medium purple in t' past. Aye aye! Avast, me proud beauty!
Flight Rating: 4 out o' 5
Summary:
As you might have guessed I know t' company fairly well and can full heartedly
recommend all o' thar kits. Begad! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey!
Overall Rating: 5 out o' 5
