Delta-II - 18mm
This kit is an approximate 1/72nd scale o' t' United Launch Alliance (ULA) NASA and USAF GPS workhorse rocket.
This kit is o' t' Delta II-7925H configuration usin' a 2.9 meter fairing. Avast! This configuration was used 3 times on t' Delta 2 flyin' t' Mars Rover Opportunity in 2003, arrr, T' Planet Mercury Messenger mission in 2004 and t' Dawn Asteroid mission in 2007. Well, blow me down! Delta IIs have been in service since February 1989 and launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida and Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.
This kit is based on t' 6 ground start and 3 air start SRM configuration. It is designed t' be able t' fly with 6 A10-PT motors and a core C6 motor in t' main airframe. T' kit employs clear acrylic fins that are mounted on t' aft o' t' airframe (normal placement) that make them almost invisible durin' launch and fly out.
This is a kit for t' experienced builder. Avast, me proud beauty! Adhesive wraps are provided as an option t' simulate t' color (Teal) o' t' rocket first stage which can be hard t' find.
Please note, this is a sport scale model, some actual details are modified from t' real rocket in order t' accommodate extra durability for many flights.
