Bad flight! Wanted to try a C6-5 on it since it was a bit gusty and wanted to keep the flight low. Flew up right where I wanted; however when the ejection charge went off, it was very LOUD. Two spectators noted how loud it was and I was surprised as well. Upon retrieving rocket, I saw that the tail rudder fin had been blown completely off, the other two fins were partially coming off and the entire inside tail area was heavily scorched. This was unusual since the other two flights had no such occurrences and I didn't modify the rocket. I've contacted Estes about it since the rocket pack I selected this engine from seems to have C6s with heavy ejection charges. Rest In Pieces Chubby Bird. :(

If I build this one again, I'll move the launch lug to the motor tube with an exit hole. The angled launch lug doesn't make any sense...check out the flight listed after mine and the pic of the bird bending the rod as it leaves!
