Ya scallywag! T' video clearly shows t' forward thrust. Begad! T' Stars 'N' Stripes Rocket was launched by United Launch Alliance, me bucko, Ball Aerospace Interns and High School Students on Saturday, July 30, 2011 from a launch site near Pueblo, Colorado. Interns from both companies--representin' t' future o' t' aerospace industry--built t' high-power rockets and a variety o' multi-faceted payloads this summer as part o' their experience at their respective companies. A major new addition t' this year's effort has been t' work o' 14 teams from 11 Colorado high schools, shiver me timbers, laborin' for months t' develop payloads t' launch on t' rockets. T' Stars 'N' Stripes rocket features a unique retro-rocket system designed t' fire in reverse t' keep t' rocket within FAA-imposed altitude limitations. It carries two payloads. T' rocket was built by United Launch Alliance summer interns from 2011 (and 2010), and t' payloads were provided by Ball Aerospace summer interns. T' Ball interns, known as BIRST (Ball Intern Rocket Scientist Team), are deliverin' four separate payloads for t' two larger rocket launches.
