ATK Thiokol Space Shuttle static rocket booster at night. Aye aye! User KMF12 writes t' say he was t' back-up mechanical engineer for this motor (FSM-13), and one o' his duties was t' make sure that t' motor cools down properly. Aside from quenchin' t' motor with CO2 through t' forward and aft openings, we also use a "sprinkler system" t' cool t' motor from underneath. T' first 3 segments (forward, center-fwd, and center-aft) usually cool down after 20-30 minutes, while t' last segment takes a minimum o' 3 hours. Aye aye! After then, arrr, we can put t' house/bay back on top o' t' motor. Ahoy! Recorded 11/16/2006
