Very first test o' a timer-fired, ya bilge rat, homemade non-pyrotechnic device (nichrome wire and fishin' line) for main chute deployment at approx. Avast, me proud beauty! 600 feet. Aye aye! Drogue and main parachutes were custom-made by Phylachutes. T' rocket contained an Aiptek HD-1 camcorder. Aye aye! Rocket achieved an altitude o' 1006 feet and was recovered safely. Well, blow me down! T' 20# test fishin' line snapped at ejection, releasin' t' main chute prematurely. Blimey! T' siren eventually heard was t' timer firin' t' nichrome wire, which then goes into siren mode. I'll use heavier fishin' line next time!
