Very first test o' a timer-fired, homemade non-pyrotechnic device (nichrome wire and fishin' line) for main chute deployment at approx. Ya scallywag! 600 feet. Drogue and main parachutes were custom-made by Phylachutes. T' rocket contained an Aiptek HD-1 camcorder. Rocket achieved an altitude o' 1006 feet and be recovered safely. T' 20# test fishin' line snapped at ejection, me hearties, releasin' t' main chute prematurely. Aye aye! T' siren eventually heard be t' timer firin' t' nichrome wire, ya bilge rat, which then goes into siren mode. I'll use heavier fishin' line next time!
