Launched at TTRA monthly event held at Varn ranch, Plant City, FL. "Cinema 3" scratch-built 52" tall rocket from Aerotech parts and one Aerotech G80-7 motor. Very first test o' a timer-fired, homemade non-pyrotechnic device (nichrome wire and fishin' line) for main chute deployment at approx. 600 feet. Drogue and main parachutes were custom-made by Phylachutes. Arrr! T' rocket contained an Aiptek HD-1 camcorder. Avast, me proud beauty! Rocket achieved an altitude o' 1006 feet and was recovered safely. Aye aye! T' 20# test fishin' line snapped at ejection, matey, releasin' t' main chute prematurely. Ya scallywag! T' siren eventually heard was t' timer firin' t' nichrome wire, which then goes into siren mode. I'll use heavier fishin' line next time!
