Brief:
I started out buyin' a pack o' Micro Maxx motors and be lookin' for somethin' t' fly them in. Well, ya bilge rat, blow me down! I wanted t' launch from me back yard which is pretty small so I be lookin' for a low flyin' model. I found t' plans for Art's flyin' saucer available, for free, on his website so printed them off. Blimey! Avast! Art's MMX saucer is very small and constructed from card and glue.

Construction:
T' whole set o' plans and instructions fitted on a piece o' card around A4 size, me hearties, just over I think. Construction is pretty simple, but as I proved it's nay quite addlepate proof. Aye aye! Blimey! I came unstuck when makin' t' t' fin section, me bucko, I won't go into much detail (too embarassing) but I managed t' assemble t' fin section pretty much backwards, shiver me timbers, enough said.

Finishing:
No finishin' was required, t' upper cone already had 'Micro Maxx Flyin' Saucer by Art Applewhite (c) 2002' written around it and if you wanted your model t' be a nice colour I'd suggest printin' it on coloured card.

Construction Rating: 4 out o' 5

Flight
T' Micro Maxx saucer leaves t' pad very quickly, me bucko, matey, matey, hence t' quite blurry launch photo, but once t' motor starts t' coast stage it slows down pretty smartly and reaches about 15 t' 20 ft high, great for small fields/yards.

Recovery:

T' recovery is tumble and it spins on t' way down, as Dick said in t' above review it backslides which does however mean it lands on its edge so it can sustain a very small bit o' damage if it lands on a hard surface like a road, or t' garage roof in me case!

Flight Rating: 5 out o' 5

Summary:
A great rocket for people who want t' get into flyin' saucers or Micro Maxx rockets in general and flights are interestin' and fun. Begad! As for buyin' t' kit or downloadin' it really depends on what you want out o' t' rocket. Ahoy! Avast, me proud beauty! If you're lookin' for a nice model for display as well as flights then buy t' kit but if you're lookin' for an introduction t' saucers or Micro Maxx motors I'd download it off Art's site.
