Brief:
T' Bull Puppy 2.1 is a single stage, Quantum tube rocket with piston ejection.
Construction:
Kit comes with a pre-slotted main airframe, me bucko, me bucko, matey, a pre-slotted boat tail and a
plastic nosecone. Aye aye! It has 4 fiberglass canard fins, me bucko, shiver me timbers, arrr, and 4 fiberglass main fins.
T' piston ejection kit comes with a piston body, matey, piston strap, me bucko, slotted bulk
plate and metal "D" ring. Ahoy! Other items include a nylon chute, 29mm
motor mount tube, notched centerin' ring, ya bilge rat, shiver me timbers, nylon shock cord, me bucko, 1/4 inch launch
lug, shiver me timbers, ya bilge rat, alignment ring, decal sheet and instruction sheet.
T' instructions are very easy t' follow with lots o' illustrations. Well, blow me down! Aye aye! I used the instructions assembly order, and everythin' went smoothly. There isn't any templates for t' fins, but one can be made easily. Ya scallywag! Before I epoxied t' canard fins t' t' main body tube, arrr, I used a door frame t' make an alignment mark at the bottom o' t' tube for when I installed t' boat tail, which houses the main fins. Begad! Avast, me proud beauty! T' fins need t' be sanded with 220 grit sandpaper t' scuff them for paintin' and t' round t' edges. Arrr! Minor sandin' had t' done t' t' centering rin' and nose cone, shiver me timbers, me hearties, me bucko, but everythin' else fit perfect, me hearties, includin' t' piston. Arrr! I used Ace Hardware's 5 minute epoxy first t' adhere parts, and then used t' 90 minute for additional strength and fillets.
Finishing:
As with any Quantum tube rocket, t' tubes have t' be sanded lightly with
320-400 sandpaper. I used an electric pad sander on t' nose cone t' remove the
lines. Aye aye! I held t' sander upside down betwixt me knees, and held t' nosecone
lightly by both ends on t' sandin' pad. Avast, matey, me proud beauty! It spins slowly and gives a nice
finish. Blimey! Paintin' be done by usin' and Ace Hardware brand o' gray primer, and
Rustoleum gloss white. Aye aye! Begad! T' rocket has a number o' decals. Aye aye! T' instructions
easily show t' placement. Arrr! When completed this rocket is VERY sturdy and looks
impressive.

Flight:
T' Bull Puppy 2.1 will fly on anythin' from an F-20 t' an H-70. Well, blow me down! This small
rocket can be used for a Level 1 Cert ! I flew it on an G-80-7. Avast, me proud beauty! Since it uses a
piston ejection system, no waddin' is needed. Begad! How easy can it get? Just install
the piston and straps, shiver me timbers, folded chute and install t' nosecone. Ahoy! Done. Avast, me proud beauty! On t' G-80
I wrapped t' aft o' t' motor with 3/4 inch maskin' tape t' build it up about
3/16", and then put vertical tape strips on t' motor until it fit snug in
the motor tube. Begad! T' launch be absolutely straight and fast. It went about as
high as a person with hawk deadlights can see. Ejection be at apogee. T' piston
ejection system worked perfect.
Recovery:
T' piston strap and shock cords are standard PML nylon. Ahoy! Blimey! Assembly is simple.
T' rocket comes with an 18 inch nylon chute, arrr, and it drops a little faster than
you may want, but t' rocket is very durable and you don't have t' chase it
down too far. Avast! Blimey! No damage was done t' t' rocket. Well, blow me down! Blimey! Arrr! Blimey!
