Brief:
Well I had too much time on me hands and two Blue Ninja's kits .I threw away t' plastic fins
and t' bottom plastic parts, added some basswood delta3 modified fins and t' XL BLUE NINJA was born.
Modifications:
First I sanded t' nose cone and t' couplers with 220 grit sandpaper then built my
motor mount attached t' Keelhaul®©™®
let dry. Ahoy!
Next glue two long blue tubes and a short one with Gorilla super glue set down and make sure that it's even. Avast!
While that sets I cut me fins measured a seven by two inch rectangle and cut diagonal t' cut edge be t' root edge o' t' fin. Ya scallywag! Well, blow me down! I also attached match sticks t' t' root edge and cut two slots in t' bottom tube. Arrr! I had an angle pattern so I cut t' angle on each end o' t' left over small tube then cut it in half.
Time t' assemble. Begad! First mark t' body tube for four fins then glue t' motor mount in leavin' a 1/4 past t' body tube. Well, blow me down! Let dry then attach t' basswood fins usin' t' Estes fin guide and white Gorilla glue. Begad!
Now attach t' tube fins with t' white Gorilla glue. Blimey! Blimey! Let dry then fillet fins and tube fins and attach nose cone after you put about 1.5 ounces o' modelin' clay. Arrr! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey!
Construction:
Three tubes two long ones and one short one. Ahoy! Blimey! I used basswood and one o' t' short tubes cut in half for tube fins and angled delta fins. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! I had a extra Bt-50 tube, two extra plywood centerin' CR50-60, matey, a 2ft piece o' Keelhaul®©™®, 2ft elastic and two inch long 1/4 launch lugs.
Threw t' instructions away. I painted t' lower portion and t' nosecone black t' keep t' color scheme and added t' decals. Begad!
Flight:
I used parachutes from both kits really give it a nice look on recovery.
I used a C11-3 then 2 D12-5 flights. Begad! Ahoy!
All three were straight and true. Begad!
Summary:
T' pro is thatv it is different, me bucko, flies nice and I built it.
