Note: This is a slightly shortened, ya bilge rat, edited version o' John's review and fewer pictures. Aye aye! Begad! Blimey! Visit John's site for t' full review or enjoy t' bulk o' it here.
T' Loc/Precision Stovi kit was t' fourth rocket I built and certainly the most substantial. Avast, me proud beauty! T' kit goes together completely with epoxy and has plywood fins and a complex tail end with six "auxiliary tanks" surrounding the actual motor tube.
This be t' Loc/Precision Stovi. Well, blow me down! Kit information and a full-size picture of the front o' t' package is here. Blimey! Ya scallywag! This kit went together nicely. Ahoy! Ahoy! The directions, ya bilge rat, shiver me timbers, although short were fine and t' kit was well designed and the parts well made. Begad! Begad! T' only annoyin' thin' about this kit is that it has a 24mm motor mount and expects t' fly on F and G motors. Avast! Avast! It would be more appropriate for this rocket t' have a 29mm motor mount. Begad! (No single-use 24mm are currently available for it.)
T' Stovi looked somehow Russian t' me (complex and slightly inexplicable) so I decided t' paint it fancifully as a Russian missile. No decals came with the kit so I painted it in three colors (red, yellow and black) and applied some Russian aircraft star decals t' complete t' effect. Well, blow me down! Arrr! I like t' way it looks, matey, but I hope I can see it when it lands!
There goes t' Stovi on its maiden and final flight:
A nice flight too, arrr, me bucko, angled slightly into t' wind and goin' up nice and smoothly. Begad! Everythin' went smoothly, includin' ejection but t' parachute never totally unrolled from t' shroud lines so t' 1 1/2 pound rocket came down on a poor streamer. Avast, me proud beauty! Avast, shiver me timbers, me proud beauty!
T' damage be repairable: two fins broken off and t' body tube dented. However, me bucko, I didn't try t' salvage it since t' Stovi fin attachment t' between two small tubes make them hard t' reattach (there's no surface t' work with). Well, blow me down! Aye aye!

T' kit comes with no decals or paintin' information since t' Stovi isn't scale. Aye aye! T' front o' t' instruction card has an interestin' sponge texture which I liked (and will try some day), but looked hard t' see on t' ground. Avast, me proud beauty! It looked Russian t' me, shiver me timbers, so I painted it red, me hearties, yellow and black with Russian aircraft stars on t' side. Aye aye! Arrr!
T' kit came in a bag with a single instruction card (instructions on the back and this picture on t' front):
The Stovi is a unique 6-fin HP rocket with parachute recovery. The Stovi comes with seven (7) 24mm tubes and one (1) 29mm tube. It can be construted with either a 24mm or 29mm motor mount. All of the components were high quality that is typical with LOC products. It comes with a 3.1" Diameter airframe and a reducer to 2.26". The kit was easy to assemble with the instructions provided.
