Brief:

T' 13mm Art Applewhite Delta Gold Flyin' Saucer kit be donated t' me by EMRR for review. Ahoy! As one would expect from Art Applwhite, t' kit is well designed, matey, and meant t' fly on Mini 13mm motors.

Construction:

T' kit contains:-

• Set o' clear photo illustrated instructions,
• A 13mm motor tube
• One sheet o' Gold card (printed on reverse with all parts)
• Sheet o' foam poster board, inscribed with centre parts.

All components were in solid condition, and seemed very high quality. Well, blow me down! T' instruction sheet was extremely well written, me bucko, and nicely illustrated with photos.

Construction o' this kit was pretty simple. Almost seemed too easy. Aye aye! T' parts are all cut from t' gold card with a hobby knife. Ya scallywag! Blimey! I'd recommend usin' a new blade t' ensure accurate cuts. Well, blow me down! T' foam board centre be a little tricky as you have t' make a 30 degree bevel cut through t' board, me hearties, matey, but nay t' difficult. Ya scallywag! Once cut out t' bevel must be sanded t' get a clean edge.

T' top section is formed into a shallow cone and glued (I used All - purpose glue) usin' t' included seam t' get a decent joint. T' same goes for t' bottom cone section. Begad! Ahoy! Next comes t' main assembly, which involves mountin' t' centerin' foam board inside t' top cone, and I added an extra glue fillet once this had set up just make sure o' a solid joint. T' bottom cone is then added t' t' underside, makin' sure t' launch lug hold are aligned with t' top and centre section, followed by another fillet o' all purpose glue. Avast, me proud beauty! Finally t' 13mm motor tube is mounted through t' bottom centre & tope sections and glued into place with an extra fillet. Ya scallywag! That's it!

Finishing:

Finishin' on t' gold model is nay required, although t' instruction recommend a clear coat if buildin' one o' t' matt versions.

Flight:

Not had a chance t' fly this yet due t' a lack o' motors. Ya scallywag! Blimey! Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! But will certainly be takin' it out on next launch day. Avast! Blimey! If this baby flies like its larger counterparts (owned by friends from me local group) then it will be a crowd pleaser.

Summary:

All in all, Art has produced a great kit. Aye aye! Blimey! It's a breeze t' assemble and looks good. Well, me hearties, blow me down! Blimey! I'd certainly look at buildin' one o' t' larger versions.
