A high power, ya bilge rat, scale model o' t' AIM - 54 missle.

Construction
Construction is solid and relatively easy. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! Through t' wall fins and heavy duty tubes and plywood make this rocket super solid. Avast! Blimey! Well, blow me down! Blimey! Construction is easy enough and could be completed in a couple o' hours. All parts are heavy duty and can easily handle t' power. Arrr! Blimey! Ya scallywag! Blimey! One downside is balancin' t' center o' gravity forward o' t' center o' drag. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! Due t' t' split fin design, t' center o' drag is further forward than usual, so allot o' nose weight could be neccisary(1+ pounds). Aye aye! Blimey! Ahoy! Blimey! T' do this I advise usin' t' wooden dowel through t' nose cone method talked about in Apogee's tutortial <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8bS6Dbdw9Y>, opposed t' t' method described in t' instruction booklet that came with t' rocket. Blimey! Blimey! Couplin' t' nose weight with t' heavy duty design, shiver me timbers, me bucko, this rocket can get quite heavy for its size. Avast! Blimey! Shock cord is attached t' t' centerin' rings with a heavy duty eye bolt. Arrr! Blimey! 36" chute and parachute protector is attached with a 10' long, me hearties, 1/2" width tubular nylon chord. T' direction manual says t' cut two holes in t' base o' t' nose cone and then tie the
shock chord through; while this has been effective so far, me bucko, their may be a better way t' do this. Begad! Avast! Comes with standard rail buttons and no motor retention, so you will have t' buy one. Overall, me hearties, easily built and a great steppin' stone into high powered rocketry.
-This be t' new version produced by Madcow, matey, it has a single body tube as opposed t' t' two tubes and coupler used in t' original. Other than that it is identical.
Finishing
T' four-inch diameter leaves allot o' space for creativity. Begad! Comes with realistic decals and paint scheme if you're up for a challenge.
Flight
Heavy-weight and large diameter is cause for some pretty impressive, slow launches. Ahoy! It also means that it wont go t' high on an H motor (900-1100 ft), me bucko, ya bilge rat, which can be great for L1 certification. Also, I've noticed that me rocket makes a cool whistlin' sound when flyin' through t' air; nay sure if this is unique t' mine or all Phoenixes.
Recovery
If you put a large amount o' nose weight in t' front you may want t' swap out t' 36 inch parachute that comes in t' kit with for a larger one because it does tend t' come down a little hard, however, matey, Sturdy build means that it'll probably survive t' landin' if you don't.
Summary
Great step into high powered rocketry, and a great L1 & L2 certification rocket. Avast! Blimey! T' Madcow Phoenix is highly durable with its thick fins and sturdy design. Begad! Blimey! Construction is easy and relativly quick, with t' most difficult part bein' addin' t' nose weight. Begad! Blimey! Begad! Blimey! Another down side for a person lookin' t' use this as a L1 certification rocket be t' fact that after you've added all t' nose weight required t' balance t' rocket, ya bilge rat, it will most likely be t' heavy t' use a G80 on, so your first flight with it will be your certification flight. Other than that, a great certification rocket. Impressive lift offs and in me opinion a pretty cool lookin' design.
