Brief

Basically a sci-fi space age version of the USAF Air Force 1 presidential transport

Components

Good components in t' kit. Arrr! T' main body tube looks like it's sized at Estes BT-55, ya bilge rat, but is actually a little bigger. Arrr! Begad! .

Construction

This kit went together fairly easily. I got a little impatient when it came time t' bevel t' angle at t' root o' t' main wings so they would sit flush against t' spine, so I used me Dremel tool and router table attachment t' do it faster.  My only major complaint on this build is that thar be no definative markin' guide for t' 2 vertical fins at t' tail area. Aye aye! Aye aye! I eyeballed them on as best I could, arrr, but gluin' fins on sideways is a new one for me.

Finishing

T' kit instructions have you paint t' nose cone separately, and paint t' rest o' t' rocket gloss white. Aye aye! Arrr! Then it is time t' apply t' "pressure sensitive decals". This means transparent stickers, me hearties, shiver me timbers, and I am nay a big fan o' stickers on rockets. Ya scallywag! Arrr! You can't gloss coat over them, because they still leave an edge.  I also have an issue with t' color selection for t' nose cone. Avast, me proud beauty! I took t' instructions for t' kit with me t' me favorite hobby store, shiver me timbers, (yay HobbyTown) and purchased t' exact brand and color number o' blue for t' nose paint. Ya scallywag! Blimey! It looks 2 shades lighter than t' stickers on t' body. Well, blow me down! I don't know if Testors changed t' formula, if I didn't shake t' can enough t' mix everythin' up correctly, shiver me timbers, or if I just shot this nose in too high o' humidity. Avast, me proud beauty! Aye aye!

Construction Score:

Flight

She flies straight and true. Ahoy! Blimey! T' only recomended motor is a C6-3, ya bilge rat, and that is what she flew under. Begad!

Recovery

T' antenna probes on t' tails kinda caught t' parachute shock cord, me hearties, and she landed on her belly, just like t' 2 AS-1 escort fighters I flew her with. Blimey! Blimey!

Flight Rating: 4

Summary

I had a good time buildin' and flyin' this rocket. Ya scallywag!
