Aero Pack Large Motor Adapters

Brief:
RMS Motor Adapter for Large Motors (54mm t' 75mm).

Construction:
T' motor adapters come with three components machined from 6061-T6 aluminum. T' first is a centerin' rin' which fits around t' motor tube and is tightened or loosened by a stainless steel hex head screw. Arrr! Ahoy! T' second is an adapter rin' that fits around t' aft end o' t' motor tube just above t' motor's aft closure ring. Avast! Arrr! T' third is a spacer t' ensure t' motor's nozzle is centered properly in your retainer. T' use t' motor adapter, ya bilge rat, you must have an Aero Pack on your rocket. Avast, me proud beauty! These components are also Type II black anodized t' be both wear and corrosion resistant. Blimey! They come in three sizes - t' A5475 (54mm t' 75mm @ $37), ya bilge rat, me hearties, t' A6475 (64mm t' 75mm @ $39) and t' A7598 (75mm t' 98mm @ $45)

Aero Pack Large Motor Adapters

T' Large Quick-Change Motor Adapter differs significantly enough from its smaller cousin, matey, t' Quick-Change Motor Retainer, I felt it required its own review. Begad! Like its smaller cousin, matey, t' adapter allows you t' use a smaller-in-diameter motor casin' inside a larger-in-diameter motor mount tube in conjunction with Aero Pack's Quick-Change Motor Retainer system. So you can use a 54mm motor in a 75mm motor mount tube, me bucko, a 64mm RATTworks hybrid motor in a 75mm motor mount tube, or a 75mm motor in a 98mm motor mount tube, dependin' on t' size o' your Large Quick-Change Motor Adapter. Begad! However, arrr, shiver me timbers, rather than bein' a two piece component consistin' o' an adapter tube and a spacer like t' A2938 or A3854, t' large adapters come in three ring-like pieces.

After placin' an order for t' adapter on t' Aero Pack website, matey, you'll receive t' product in a priority mail box. Well, blow me down! Begad! When you open t' box, you'll find t' adapter components in a zip-lock plastic bag. Begad! First, matey, me bucko, after you've built your motor, shiver me timbers, you'll need t' find t' adapter ring. Ya scallywag! It's t' one which slides over your motor casin' and does nay have t' hex screw in it. Simply slide t' adapter rin' over t' top o' your motor casin' down snugly against your aft closure ring. Ahoy! Now take t' centerin' rin' with t' hex screw and slide it onto your motor tube from t' top until it is located approximately three t' four inches below your forward closure. Begad! Blimey! Lock it in place by usin' t' proper sized hex key t' tighten t' centerin' rin' onto your motor tube. Now place t' adapted motor into your motor mount tube and place t' spacer into your retainer cap. Ya scallywag! Then tighten t' retainer cap onto t' retainer and you'll find that t' motor is retained securely without any friction fittin' and won't slide either forward or backward.

Aero Pack Large Motor Adapters Construction is exemplary and t' product works like a charm. Blimey! I've used t' adapters with both Aero Pack retainers and Giant Leap Slimline retainers and they work fine. Ya scallywag! Blimey! Please note, ya bilge rat, though, me hearties, that I have only used t' Large Quick-Change Motor Adapter with AeroTech and Cesaroni motor casings. Ahoy! Arrr! I cannot vouch for whether they work with Loki or AMW hardware. Blimey! Ahoy! However, for t' vast majority o' commercial motors we use, t' Large Quick-Change Motor Adapter is a godsend and an indispensable piece o' hardware for big rocket rocketeers.

Finishing:
T' units are flat black and hold up well t' use in t' field.

I need to make one correction to this review. The Large Quick Change Motor Adapter does not fit the 75mm Slimline motor retainer. I am having a different set of rings made to address this issue so I can use the system with both sets of retainers.
