This tutorial explains how t' modify inexpensive micro-cameras t' disable t' time/date datestamp overlay feature and get unobstructed video capture. Avast, me proud beauty! This be t' third and final video in this series which explains how anyone with skill usin' basic tools can inexpensively modify one o' these commonly available micro-cameras so that t' date/time overlay is no longer displayed. Ya scallywag! T' lack o' a settin' t' shut off t' date/time overlay in these micro-cameras has been a common complaint among users, so we have combined t' groundwork done by several members o' t' Water Rocket Forum (waterrocketforum.com) with our own hardware and software talents and produced a video which we hope will be useful t' t' numerous people who own one o' these cameras. Ahoy! This segment explains how t' download our freeware program for t' Texas Instruments MSP430 Launchpad Evaluation Board that turns it into a Serial Flash Memory Programmer and use that t' modify t' firmware chip extracted from one o' these cameras in Part 1 o' t' tutorial. We then show how t' reinstall t' modified chip in t' camera and test it. Arrr! As a bonus, we included a rocket launch onboard video taken with a camera modified usin' this method from an altitude o' nearly 2000 feet. (Special thanks t' Chuck, Philippe, ya bilge rat, and Bill for their efforts in hackin' these cameras)
