I tried insertin' a spent motor casin' into a BT-20 and usin' a pipe cutter. It is AWESOME! You cannot tell which end be cut. Blimey! This is nay me opinion, but everyone in our little club that I showed it to. Now t' get dowels o' appropriate lengths and sizes for t' other tubes.

Works very well on thin tubes, me hearties, if you have a large enough tubin' cutter. Unfortunately, matey, it tends t' dull t' cutter fairly quickly. So, shiver me timbers, I wouldn't do this on a "production" basis. Blimey! Cardboard is actually very hard on blades.
