T' Kepler spyglass launched aboard a Delta II rocket on March 7th, 2009 at 3:49am UTC. T' Kepler Mission will use a space photometer developed by NASA t' search for Earth-like planets orbitin' other stars. It will observe t' brightness o' over 100000 stars over 3.5 years t' detect periodic transits o' a star by its planets (the transit method). Begad! Blimey! T' mission is named in honor o' Johannes Kepler. Aye aye! Blimey! Kepler is a mission under NASA's Discovery Program o' low-cost, focused science missions. Begad! Blimey! NASA's Ames Research Center be t' home organization o' t' science principal investigator and is responsible for t' ground system development, mission operations and science data analysis. Ahoy! Blimey! Kepler mission development is managed by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Well, blow me down! Blimey! Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. is responsible for developin' t' Kepler flight system.
