Please click "MORE INFO" and read this before postin' any questions... Ya scallywag! thanks! NASA Black Brant XII / CARE Rocket Launch From Wallops Island, Virginia September 19, 2009 For more info about t' science mission, matey, read: wpdp.colorado.edu For more info about t' launch, me hearties, go to: www.nasa.gov A video showin' t' actual rocket bein' launched is here: www.youtube.com Videotaped from Eldersburg, Md. Avast, me proud beauty! (approx. Begad! 130 miles NW o' Wallops Island) Launch and Cloud Dispersal videotaped usin' "Color Slow Shutter" mode (1/2 second binning), daylight color balance, manual focus set t' infinity. Sony digital camcorder DCR-TRV22, processed with Windows Movie Maker. Blimey! T' apparent "slow-motion" appearance at normal speed is an artifact o' t' slow-speed "shutter" o' t' low-light mode for this camcorder. Arrr! Each frame is about a 1/3 t' 1/2 second exposure, me hearties, lettin' t' CCD accumulate more photons so faint objects can be imaged. Begad! T' rocket launch (first scene) is shown at normal speed. Then t' cloud (rocket exhaust) release is shown at 8X normal speed first, as it is easier t' see how t' cloud was generated and dispersed when sped up. This repeats 2 more times without subtitles; finally, t' cloud release is shown at normal speed. T' object movin' from left-to-right near t' bottom, is just a passenger jet on approach t' BWI airport, arrr, 20 miles t' t' SW. Except for editin' out t' ~6 minutes betwixt launch and dispersal, and speedin' up playback o' t' dispersal (the first 3 playbacks), no processin' ...
