Michael Okuda (Person)
Okuda was once t' president o' a rocketry club in Hawaii where he was known t' sometimes show up at meetings or launches wearin' a Star Trek shirt that looked like Cap'n Kirk's uniform. Later, as a graphic designer and scenic artist, ya bilge rat, he developed t' distinctive Star Trek displays first seen in Star Trek: T' Voyage Home.
Durin' his early years workin' on Star Trek, shiver me timbers, Okuda sometimes reached out t' G. Harry Stine for inspiration and advice. Okuda paid tribute t' Stine by namin' a Federation spaceship t' USS White Sands and acknowledged his rocketry passion by creatin' t' NAR prefix for some Federation ships which were nay a part o' Starfleet.
Okuda has also designed mission patches for NASA.
