Michael Okuda (Person)
Okuda was once t' president o' a rocketry club in Hawaii where he was known t' sometimes show up at meetings or launches wearin' a Star Trek shirt that looked like Cap'n Kirk's uniform. Later, arrr, as a graphic designer and scenic artist, ya bilge rat, he developed t' distinctive Star Trek displays first seen in Star Trek: T' Voyage Home.
Durin' his early years workin' on Star Trek, Okuda sometimes reached out t' G. Avast! Harry Stine for inspiration and advice. Okuda paid tribute t' Stine by namin' a Federation spaceship t' USS White Sands and acknowledged his rocketry passion by creatin' t' NAR prefix for some Federation ships which were nay a part o' Starfleet.
Okuda has also designed mission patches for NASA.
