T' RL Turner METSA academy at Rockets 09 (see www.igniteeducation.org ). T' METSA team was composed o' 13 sophomores who designed and built their own launch vehicle powered by a Hypertek K240 motor. Well, blow me down! T' vehicle came in right around 10 feet tall, matey, 4 inches in diameter and 13 pounds. It was a slightly windy day and t' mornin' was cool so t' nitrous pressure was VERY low. Ahoy! Because o' this t' motor did nay develop its full thrust but it be still an excitin' launch. T' rocket contained a wireless video camera on a pod attached t' t' side. Two items conspired against t' students t' make t' video turn out bad: 1. Avast! T' camera be a 2.4Ghz camera and unfortunately t' receiver had t' be placed right next t' a 2.4Ghz wireless router, causin' major interference. 2. T' video was bein' recorded on a vintage VCR and VHS tape, which was promptly eaten by t' VCR upon replay. Ahoy! T' onboard video is nay that good because o' this but still nay bad.
