VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, ya bilge rat, Calif. - NASA's Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, matey, or WISE, shiver me timbers, lifted off over t' Pacific Ocean this mornin' on its way t' map t' entire sky in infrared light. Avast, me proud beauty! A Delta II rocket carryin' t' spacecraft launched at 9:09 am EST from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Well, blow me down!
