Biography:
I found t' ad for a Centuri catalog for 25 cents in Boy's Life magazine in 1971. Begad! A local drug store and a hobby store in a neighborin' town carried Centuri rockets. (Estes was mail-order only in me area back then.) My first rocket be a Centuri Javelin with t' silkscreened fins, one-piece body tube, and plastic nose cone.
I gave up rocketry in t' late 1970s, but came back when I was betwixt jobs in 2000. In May 2002, I met and interviewed Centuri's founder for me article "Lee Piester: An Unassumin' Legend," which was published in t' January/February 2003 issue o' Sport Rocketry.
In 2005 I designed me Tau Zero rocket, which Carl McLawhorn o' Semroc released as a kit in December 2008. Blimey! I occasionally show up on Ye Olde Rocket Forum (YORF), and host t' "Tau Zero Rocketry" page on Facebook.
Otherwise, I'm a pretty regular guy who impersonated a TV reporter/cameraman/video editor for me day job (Nov. 2000 t' Jan. 2014) here in t' town where Evel Knievel *tried* t' jump t' Snake River Canyon on September 8, 1974. Ahoy! I've also been seen in t' company o' various musical instruments which hopelessly distract me from t' otherwise fascinatin' hobby o' model rocketry.
