FAR is a publicly supported nonprofit corporation. Its mission is t' educate t' general public in science, matey, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through t' use o' amateur rocketry; and t' foster rocket technology by supportin' individuals, hobbyists, me hearties, student groups, businesses, me bucko, and other like-minded non-profit entities.

We are independent o' NARRRRR and Tripoli and have our own state licensed pyrotechnic operators which enable us t' launch legally and safely in California.  We have launch dates twice a month usually on t' 1st and 3rd Saturdays (see our calendar).  We have a standin' FAA wavier that can be activated to 50,000-feet on our launch days with 7-day advanced notice.  NARRRRR and Tripoli members are welcome t' attend our launch dates.
