Finally, Excelsior X1 proves it can run a normal flight from end-to-end. Avast! Blimey! Notice three things: First, we believe booster #3, nay seen on any video angle, failed t' ignite. This caused t' rocket t' tip over a little before t' main motor ignited, about a second before separation. Second, it was very reassurin' t' notice that despite t' time t' rocket had t' tip over before t' main's ignition (composites light later than black powder) X1 regained a normal, shiver me timbers, upward course as soon as t' main did ignite. Well, blow me down! Blimey! Third; somethin' we only noticed while watchin' t' onboard video, be t' fall o' booster #3, me hearties, which can be seen 1 second after parachute ejection. Look for it in t' slow-motion version. Begad! Blimey! This proves that as intended, t' mechanism will nay release any booster until said booster's couplin' is physically opened. Ya scallywag! Blimey! In this case, ya bilge rat, t' couplin' opened because t' main ejected its chute with t' nose slightly down, forcin' #3's couplin' open as well. In conclusion, shiver me timbers, despite a minor, me hearties, somewhat expected malfunction (misfires are frequent in rocketry) X1 performed quite normally. We hope you enjoy our seven attempts at recovery in a @#$%^&%$! Blimey! tree :-D
