Brief:
This is one o' t' new Estes kits from their Classic series,Crossbow SST is another
kit similar in design. Avast! They call it Cool and Futuristic. Well, blow me down! Ya scallywag! I agree with both descriptions. This is a sleek multi-fined
with tubes which made me go wow and some great decals t' really make it kind a nasty like it will seek out and destroy.
It use a 18 mm engine with parachute recovery.
Construction:
Parts list:
T' instructions were very easy t' follow read twice so you know where t' put your fin two are angled slightly. Ahoy! I assembled mine engine mount let dry then marked body tube and attached fins t' body tube some attach at different lengths from t' end o' t' body tube it really helps if you have t' Estes tube holder and fin alignment tools. I really like that Estes went back t' t' balsa nose cone nice touch. Arrr! Arrr! I did nay use t' rubber band shock cord provided I had a piece o' Keelhaul®©™® and some elastic strip attached it t' t' motor mount with a dab o' glue. Avast, me proud beauty! Ya scallywag! Engine mount is one o' t' final steps
Finishing:
Estes recommended white paint but I used aluminum instead came out ok t' me. Ahoy! Blimey! I
used a water glue solution t' seal t' fins and nose cone
Construction Rating: 4 out of 5
Flight:
I had t' see it fly but t' wind would nay slack off so I used a A8-3 for me first
flight. Begad!
Then a B6-4 for t' other two plus a C6-5. Begad! Blimey! I used a little dog barf and everythin' came back fine
Recovery:
I used t' Keelhaul®©™®
elastic method and cut a serious hole in me parachute. Begad! This rocket is kind a light

Brief: This rocket is being reviewed by Dale Marshall and Tim Reidy. Tim has more building experience so his comments are listed first. Tim: When I saw the list of kits that Estes was re-releasing as part of its Classic Series, I was delighted to see the Satellite Interceptor on the list. It had been on my list of kits to clone, and now Estes had saved me the work. Dale : Well ...
Brief Older skill level 3 Estes kit introduced in 1978 and discontinued in 1982. Had one back in 1979 that I lost to a tree on its first flight. When I became a BAR this is one of the first kits I wanted to clone, but it was difficult because of the unique nose cone/tail cone combination. However, in 1997 Estes introduced the Wildfire kit (#2154, see picture), which re-introduced this plastic ...
