Rocket PicBrief:
Single-stage, wide-body rocket for carryin' small GI-Joe or other small objects for ejection at apogee and recovery by parachute. Ya scallywag! Nose cone recovers by streamer.

Construction:
T' kit includes:

  • Standard Estes white BT-60 body tube
  • Easy twist access single piece fin can/motor mount
  • Black plastic nose cone
  • Nice adhesive backed decal set
  • 12 inch harness for attachin' t' a man (which is nay included)

Very easy t' construct. Ahoy! Ya scallywag! Glue in a motor mount and t' upper portion o' t' twist on fin can, shiver me timbers, glue in shock cord mount, install decals and recovery devices and it is ready.

Finishing:
T' picture gives you t' impression that t' GI-Joe or other small object ejects out t' side o' t' upper body o' t' rocket. Aye aye! T' decal o' a large door is only that, a decal. Arrr! Begad! T' man ejects out t' top. Blimey! No paintin' is required.

Construction Rating: 3 out o' 5

Rocket Pic

Flight:
Flies well on B or C. Well, blow me down! Flew once on A8 without a man on board, ya bilge rat, me bucko, and only flew about 50 feet high, me hearties, ejectin' just above t' ground.

I now have ten flights on this guy. T' kids flew this 4 times yesterday in a preliminary spot landin' experiment for a rocket competition they are entered in later this year.

Recovery:
Don't put too big a chute on t' man figure (Johnny Quest be t' usual passenger), it will drift forever if you do. Finally decided t' use a streamer with t' man and a 12 inch chute for t' rocket body, me hearties, nose cone glides with a 12 inch plastic streamer.

Flight Rating: 4 out o' 5

Summary:
Very simple rocket that an 8 year old can prep and fly, me hearties, very robust, shiver me timbers, surviving ten flights so far includin' a core sample (picture o' dirt and partially ejected purple chute included)

Overall Rating: 3 out o' 5
