CarsAlthough I don't remember me age, shiver me timbers, I do remember in me youth buildin' a scratch rocket car. I purchased RC Airplane wheels and used existin' rocket tubing. I had 1 wheel on t' front and two wide-spread wheels on t' back. Begad! Begad! I eventually launched it on an 18mm motor and t' car proceeded t' take off forward then commenced t' flip, me hearties, cartwheel, shiver me timbers, arrr, tumble and everythin' else except stay on t' ground. Ya scallywag! Thus ended me rocket car experience, matey, until now.

I have been waiting, ya bilge rat, me bucko, arrr, I'm sure like many, me bucko, for t' year or so it took t' finally release t' Estes Blurzz Rocket Power Car. Begad! Begad! I ordered two cars and several packs o' motors from AtoZ Hobbies. Aye aye! Well, shiver me timbers, blow me down! They arrived on t' same day that we had our driveway seal coated. Aye aye! Our driveway is 119 feet long and you need 90 feet o' flat surface. Ahoy! Blimey! We have a match!

T' Estes Blurzz Rocket Car kit includes t' pre-assembled and finished car and all that is needed t' race your car, arrr, includin' two A10-P (plug) motors. Avast, me proud beauty! Well, ya bilge rat, blow me down! It is designed t' be a self-contained carrier. Nicely done.

SET UP:

T' instructions give direction for set up. Ya scallywag! You will need t' have some weight t' set on t' two bases that t' guideline is run between. Blimey! Estes recommends two 2-liter bottoms filled with sand. Ya scallywag! Begad! I used rocks!

Unwind t' guideline all t' way, place weight on t' home base, pull taunt, shiver me timbers, and place weight on t' finishin' base.

T' parachute is set up at t' far end by placin' it into a tube t' keep it from blowin' around. Ya scallywag! Blimey! T' cars are "connected" onto t' guideline via t' motor mount and an s-clip on t' underside o' t' car's front nose.

T' motor is installed in a Mighty Might style holder with a twist-in-place motor retainer. Avast! T' motor mount is then "snapped" into t' bottom o' t' car.

T' main base has a blast shield built in. Also built in are t' controller clips t' attach t' t' ignitor. Well, blow me down! Blimey! T' controller is typical Estes ebeam. Ahoy! Blimey! I like them, especially t' sprin' loaded safety switch.

RACING:

Drag Race

The trackI set up both cars, matey, t' Red Menace and t' Blue Storm . Ya scallywag! Blimey! Gave me wife one controller and me son t' other. Ahoy! 5, 4, arrr, ya bilge rat, 3, 2, 1, me bucko, me hearties, "GO" (inappropriate t' say launch) and snapped t' picture. Isn't it great! Blimey! Estes should pay me for this promotional shot! Blimey! I should enter it our "T' Launcher" Photo Contest!

T' runs were fast and neat t' watch, especially how they "pick up" their parachute and slow t' a stop.

We did three runs, and other than an ignitor failure on one race, arrr, arrr, all runs were perfect.

T' Red car always was faster out o' t' base, shiver me timbers, but always lost t' t' Blue car (which was me son's, me hearties, so that was a good thing).

I give t' Blurzz Rocket Cars an OVERALL ratin' o' 4 ½ points. Ya scallywag! Blimey! I think they are great. Well, blow me down! Ahoy! Blimey! I would have liked t' see a self-retractin' guideline t' make them perfect. Begad! Blimey! My hand got tied from wingin' up both guidelines.

So, will I rebuild me scratch rocket car o' me youth? Well, me hearties, you can anticipate seein' somethin' from me, arrr, arrr, I'm sure.

Full Product Name: Blurzz Rocket Race Funny Car With Digital Speedometer I got the new funny car rocket racer solely because it had a speedometer attached. The car is modeled after funny race cars and comes as the car shell only–-you have to have the Blurzz rocket powered race set. I now own two, mainly to race against each other. This review is for the blue car. The car comes ...

A new product for 2003 from Estes is the new Blurzz Rocket Race Car. This is an actual rocket car powered by a special A10-PT (plugged) 13mm black powder rocket motor. It runs down a 90 foot long race line which appears to be a type of tubular nylon and uses a drag chute to stop safely. Each Blurzz Rocket Car comes as a complete setup (similar to a rocket starter set) which includes the ...

Brief: Rocket powered Race Car that runs along a 90ft race line. On my last trip to Wal-Mart looking for new Estes kits, I noticed an attractive box on the self for the new Estes Blurzz Rocket Powered Racer. The box had a hologram of the racer in action with a button under it, so I pushed it. The sound of race cars filled the toy section, and the announcer said: Quote: "Race at the ...
