This was t' launch attempt o' t' 2009 AIAA Young Professional LA Section (Team 2) rocket. T' rocket was an 8-foot tall "Quasar" model usin' a K700 engine (700N avg thrust, 2400s impulse). Blimey! Blimey! T' rocket exploded directly overhead and a large field o' debris soon fell over t' crowd. T' largest remainin' piece -- a 3 foot long body section -- landed 2 feet from a participant's car. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! And t' payload landed directly on top o' t' bunker we were in. Our team determined that t' failure mode was fin flutter at high speeds, resultin' in t' shearin' off o' several fins and loss o' control near burnout. Arrr! Blimey! Several other teams shared a similar fate.
