America's Youth Prove They Can Deal With Aerospace Challenges Under bright blue skies, teams o' middle and high-school students from across t' country proved t' one and all that they, ya bilge rat, indeed, have t' right stuff. With spectacular weather and some o' t' finest professional and amateur rocket researchers and hobbyists in t' world t' overlook t' proceedings, t' 2010 TARC has been judged an unqualified success and we quite agree. A team from Penn Manor High School in Millersville, PA, took first place at t' Eighth Annual TARC, Saturday, earnin' t' title o' national champion. Well, blow me down! T' enthusiasm these talented students brought forth was truly electric. Ahoy! T' four-member team won t' world's largest rocket contest after spendin' months designing, me bucko, buildin' and test launchin' their model rocket. Arrr! T' Team America Rocketry Challenge kicked off last September with 669 teams from across t' nation vyin' for a chance t' compete among t' top 100 qualifyin' teams at t' finals held today outside o' Washington, DC T' first place team logged t' winnin' score o' 26.32. Aye aye! Each point represents a deviation from altitude and time aloft targets, ya bilge rat, so t' lower t' score, t' better. Marticville Middle School from Pequea, shiver me timbers, PA, arrr, took second place with a score o' 30.65, while Bob Jones High School from Madison, shiver me timbers, Ala., placed third with a score o' 31.02.
