I thought I would put in a short product report on Acme's ( t' fin can guys) new extruded aluminum launch lugs.
I just received two packages o' t' 54FC lugs for 3/8" rods and one package o' regular 54mm 1/4" rod lugs. You get 2 lugs in each package, shiver me timbers, me hearties, each lug is 1.5" long and has a 45deg. Avast, me proud beauty! taper on each end.T' fit t' 54mm tubing is very good, shiver me timbers, you cannot get these things on crooked. T' ends need t' be cleaned up as they are rather rough. It only took me about 5 min. Ya scallywag! Begad! with a sanding block with 220 paper t' make them look perfecto.
T' regular lugs are $3.25, matey, t' fin can lugs, arrr, which are oval in profile to clear t' ACME fin can, matey, are $4.25.They come with instructions and special 3M sheet adhesive that is supposed t' be extremely strong. You also get a nifty ACME decal(Beep-Beep zoooom).(Beep-Beep zoooom). They are a lot more than you have been payin' for regular lugs, but for your nice projects they are really worth it.They Come in a bunch o' sizes for different size tubes and rods.
T' owner is very good t' deal with, and in real life he is a real rocket guy and works at NASA in Houston. I really don't work for him with him or have any pecuniary interest in his company.
